How It’s Made: Construction Pt 3

Welcome back to another installment of our behind-the-scenes look at Hoosier Custom Cruiser. In today’s post, we’re diving into the critical stage of chassis preparation—an essential foundation for building our top-quality custom motorhomes.

Precision in Preparation

After returning from being expertly stretched at a Ford certified shop, the chassis is ready for our skilled team to begin the intricate work of customization. This transformation includes the addition of four feet of C-channel, significantly enhancing the wheelbase for a smoother ride and reducing overhang at the back end.

Advancements in Suspension

A notable upgrade on this particular coach is the integration of liquid springs, replacing the standard sumo springs. This advanced system offers a superior suspension setup by removing traditional leaf springs, thereby enhancing both comfort and drivability. This upgrade, although costly, ensures an unparalleled travel experience.

Constructing a Level Foundation

Our technicians are currently installing angle irons and hangers for the holding tanks, creating a robust platform across the chassis. This level surface is crucial for mounting the floor, as the natural chassis incline around the axle presents unique challenges that require innovative solutions.

Continual Progress

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to document the transformation of this chassis into a fully realized luxury motorhome. The next steps involve detailed customization work that promises to redefine comfort and style on the road.

In our upcoming videos, we’ll explore more about the benefits of liquid springs and other enhancements that set Hoosier Custom Cruiser apart in the world of luxury RVs.
