How It’s Made: Construction Pt 1
Welcome to the first installment of our series "How It's Made: Hoosier Custom Cruiser." I'm Earl, and today, I'm excited to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the very beginning of our motorhome construction process.
Starting with the Basics: The Chassis
Every journey has a starting point, and for a motorhome, it all begins with a chassis. Today, I'm showing you a chassis straight from Ford—this is the foundation on which we build your dream RV. This particular chassis includes optional features like radar for collision avoidance, lane assistance, and variable cruise control, but these are not standard.
Customization Right from the Start
The next step in our process involves stretching the chassis to accommodate a longer wheelbase. Why do we stretch it? It's simple: without this adjustment, there would be too much overhang at the back end, especially when adding all the custom features you love. For our 28T model, we add a 48-inch stretch. This modification is meticulously done at a Ford Certified shop, ensuring that it doesn’t affect your Ford warranty.
A Peek into the Future
This chassis modification is crucial for the majority of all motorcoaches. I’ll be capturing photos of how this stretching process leaves the chassis looking and more in our next video, giving you an even closer look at how your custom Hoosier Custom Cruiser comes to life.
Stay tuned for the next part of our "How It's Made" series where we’ll dive deeper into the transformation process. Each step is an essential piece of the puzzle in crafting your ideal motorhome, and we can’t wait to share more with you.
Thank you for joining us today and be sure to follow our journey as we continue to turn your RV dreams into reality.
